Traditional and traditionally rigged boats are a feature of Leigh-on-Sea and at the Leigh-on-Sea Sailing Club we have a Club Classics Class. Owners meet informally in the club and often sail in company.
Following on from two successful events last season we plan to schedule a number of Club Classics events during 2009 including a Foreshore Cruise, Cruising in Company, a Rally for the Fishing Festival and the Regatta Parade of Sail. These events will not form part of the general sailing program but will be communicated through use of the notice board in the club, the website and when possible through direct contact with those in the class (so let me have your contact details).
Cruisers and Dinghies are invited to take part in Club Classic Class events and we encourage owners of classic boats from other clubs to join in and offer to include details of their boats on our website. We also welcome owners of other local boats to sail with us and join in our events as “Friends of the Classics” the more the merrier.
