19th – 20th April
An excellent two day session on Seamanship Skills was held over the weekend of 19/20th April. Those involved covered the theory side of launching, recovery, anchoring, man overboard and sundry other skills. This was followed up with practical excercises on the water and all acquitted themselves very well. These practicals brought home to many just how difficult actually doing is compared to knowing the theory!
In addition free sailing was available to those who wanted to simply practice their sailing and, among others, Steve Hill took the opportunity to try out a few high speed runs in his newly acquired Mystere Catamaran! Once ashore, very welcome sausage sandwiches and rolls were well received courtesy of the Hull family! Thank you!
The date(s) of the next training and free sailing sessions will be confirmed shortly. Please keep an eye on the website if you are interested.
