Cadet Evenings To Restart Informally
Cadet evenings were due to restart on Wednesday 9th September. Unfortunately, there were several issues that forced us to temporarily suspend Cadet evenings until they were resolved.
Having been unable to recruit one or several volunteer adults to be responsible for overseeing the management of Cadet evenings, the Club Committee have opted for an alternative solution. With effect from Friday 13th November Cadet evenings will move to every Friday at 8.00pm. Please be aware that this will be an informal, self managed evening and this means that a parent of each child or a nominated alternative adult will need to be on the premises. The cadets are free to use the lower saloon, the games and equipment provided and obtain soft drinks and sweets from the upstairs bar. All under 16s should leave the premises by 10.00pm. We hope that this will encourage more families to use the club facilities and that parents will take this oppotunity to socialise with the existing Friday regulars! It is extremely important that the Cadet section receives the support and encouragement of all Club Members and we would ask that anyone who feels that they could assist in making Cadet Evenings a success once again should contact any member of the Committee as a matter of some urgency.
Cadets is for youngsters of Secondary school age (11 -17yrs) so, even if your child/children have not as yet been involved in Cadets, please consider encouraging them to take part and get involved yourself!
Club Clothing – Volunteer required
We are looking for a volunteer to take over responsibility for Club Clothing. This will entail advertising, taking orders from members, ordering from the suppliers etc twice a year in Spring and Autumn. If anyone can help please contact me, Pip 07787516520

Four Toppers come “on stream” at Leigh
We now have four Toppers fully fitted out with centre mainsheets for use by club members, these are clearly labelled in the Birdcage. All the kit is in the boat except for the mast / sail which is stored at the rear of the Birdcage. They must be reserved in advance with Mike at perfectdaywatersports@googlemail.com so we have a record of use. These are on a first come basis except when training is taking place, training has priority. The use of these boats is free except when used as part of formal training when a cost of £10 per day will be charged.
Please take pride in these boats and leave them in a clean and tidy condition and all the right gear in the right boat (it is all labelled). If anything breaks or tears or is missing please let Mike know so that it can be replaced. Any questions to Mike or Doug (at dougresting@aol.com). We also have a Minisail and Laser-2 “Fun” available.
